Thank you Foundation Church for showing up to put a big dent in the clean up at River Oaks Mobile Community. It was a great day and very encouraging to the managers!
There is still a lot to do to get it back in a livable condition and we are committing to helping to the end.
We are also going to be tackling the Riverside Mobile Community that sits adjacent to the east of River Oaks. We talked with the managers yesterday and they really need help. With no FEMA assistance, both of these communities are on their own, but the beauty of it all is this is an opportunity for the church to step in and help.
Riverside has structures that have been abandoned and it is up to the managers to take care of it all. You can see the pictures below of all that still needs to be done.
So, what is needed?
1. Dumpsters–each dumpster costs $265 and we need a lot of them. Yesterday, we filled 16 of them. So, we need donations for dumpsters for both communities. You can donate online through PushPay at https://pushpay.com/pay/foundationchurchok.
2. Heavy Equipment-we need equipment that can come in and knock these structures down and put the debris in dumpsters. We had a great response yesterday from the people from Foundation Church and their companies. You can contact Lance Hoskins at 918-344-6241 if you want to voluntarily use your equipment to help clean up.
3. Hands and Feet-maybe you can give a few hours or a day. There is a lot of debris that needs to be picked up by hand. Bring shovels, trashbags, gloves, wheelbarrows and wear shoes that have hard soles.
